The Good Care Group

Description:

Rapid Response - live-in Carer

Scotland

If you’re looking for the next step in your caring career there’s nowhere better than The Good Care Group. We have an exciting opportunity for a senior live-in carer to join our rapid response team in Scotland.

We are a leading provider of live-in care services in Scotland and England. For older people, or those with life-limiting conditions, there's nowhere better to live than in the comfort of their own home. Surrounded by their memories and supported by a live-in carer, every single client gets to live their very best life, in the place they love the most.

At The Good Care Group our people are at the heart of everything we do. Joining us means you will receive the very best in training and support from a team who are here for you 24/7, looking after you so that you can make a real difference to others.

Our Rapid Response Team are a highly skilled, flexible team who respond swiftly to emergencies or changing business or client requirements, working to stabilise and improve placement set-up and enabling clients to live life to the full in their own homes and own community for as long as possible. Rapid Response carers may work with our respite clients, as part of our service start-up process, may cover existing placements at the last minute or support with complex issues.

If you are a highly adaptable Professional Carer, with the ability to adapt your practice to a wide range of client scenarios, this could be the ideal role for you. You will assess and improve client care plans to enhance wellbeing and service satisfaction; this could involve starting a new care package at short notice and developing care strategies to stabilise the placement before handing over to a carer colleague, or supporting an existing client placement for short term cover whilst proactively evaluating and improving the service in that placement. This is an exciting role for someone looking to take the next step in their caring career.

Why there’s nowhere better:

  • 5 days’ training before your first placement

  • 24/7/365 support from our central team

  • A dedicated care manager who knows you and your client

  • UK travel expenses covered whilst in placement

  • We pay according to your skills and experience, not based on the client you work with

  • Free PVG

  • Guaranteed minimum of 14 days work per month

Your role will include:

  • Managing medical conditions such as dementia, stroke and Parkinson’s

  • Moving and handling

  • Cooking, cleaning and ensuring the smooth running of the house

  • Administering medication

  • Travelling to and supporting in a variety of different client placements

  • As a Professional carer you will have Key Worker status

We’re looking for:

  • A minimum of 2 year’s professional care experience in any care setting, such as live-in carer, domiciliary carer, care assistant, support worker, healthcare assistant or similar

  • Extensive experience in supporting people living with Dementia

  • A full, clean driver’s licence and access to a car for use when on shift

  • Hold or commit to registration with the SSSC (we will cover the cost of your first year’s registration fee)

  • SVQ 2 (SCQF level 6) in Health and Social Care or above (or willing to work towards).

Please note due to the nature of this role, Professional carers appointed need to be based in Scotland when they are “on duty” and willing to travel where required.
